Looking back, should Clemson have taken the Black Friday game vs usc?

It did have a lot going for it in some ways with national exposure, exclusive date & time, etc..

But that Friday after Thanksgiving would have had trillions of Americans fully fed & ready to shop til they dropped for Xmas bargains, even college football fans..

thus a 3:30 game time would have been debatable & limited viewing But a 7:30-8pm game would have been perfect since college football fans aka shoppers would be ready for left-over turkey & dressing thus would be inclined to recline in comfort and watch Clemson declaw the coots in DV.

So, what was the original deal brought forth by ESPN and what do you think Clemson should have done.

Go TiGERS..ROCK the Bulldoggies!

I doubt SCar wanted that because they are always guaranteed a night game when they play us.

In Hindsight we should have played on Friday night. That would have been an advantage for us. Noon game not much of advantage.

Nope. Let the c 0 c k $ except the Black Fri game next year.

And ESPN probably won't ask them. Because they know how dangerous it would be for their staff to be in a cesspool on a Friday night!

Yes. Apparently the Coots said yes to Disney but we told them no for the Black Friday primetime slot. The 12pm ESPN slot isn't a bad one either, I know it's a day game and there's something in the air about Saturday Nights in the Death Valley, but there will still be a lot of viewers immediately following Gameday which I'm sure are going to College Station for Texas/A&M that hasn't been played in 12 years or whatever.

I would've preferred the Black Friday PM kickoff but I get it that we have a smaller fanbase and a lot of people travel for Thanksgiving making it hard.

Playing on Black Friday was the right play

From the onset. I personally thought it would be a neat one-time thing to do and most people are off that day and really no challenges in getting to the game or spending the day in Clemson.

I ,as well as you Bill came up when Clemson and the coots played on
Big Thursday at mid-day and no tv.Radio was fun. I guess I'm trying
to live in the past and I like noon games especially on Thanksgiving
day.
