Less Than 5,500 Tickets Remain for 2010 Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Virginia Tech Faces Either NC State or Florida State Dec. 4 in Charlotte
Charlotte, N.C. – Less than 5,500 tickets are still available for the 2010 Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship game, it was announced today by game officials. Over 65,000 tickets have already been sold for this year’s game between Virginia Tech and either NC State, if the Wolfpack win against Maryland on Nov. 27, or Flordia State. The Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Game, in its sixth year, will be played in Charlotte December 4, 2010 with a 7:45 p.m. kickoff and televised nationally on ESPN. The winner of the championship earns the ACC bid to play in the Discover Orange Bowl, if not selected for the BCS National Championship Game. The game will be held at Bank of America Stadium, home of the NFL's Carolina Panthers and the Meineke Car Care Bowl. “We couldn’t be happier to be where we are in ticket sales at this point,” said Will Webb, Executive Director. “We are striving for a sellout, which is what we always believed the ACC deserves. The fact that we are almost there, given we don’t know the final matchup, is a testament to the game and the conference.” Tickets for the 2010 Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Game begin at just $25and are available through the local organizing committee’s official website, www.accfootballcharlotte.com and through TicketMaster. Charlotte Collegiate Football, a non-profit organization, serves as the local organizing committee for the Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Game. CCF also operates the Meineke Car Care Bowl. Fans can visit the local organizing committee’s official website, www.accfootballcharlotte.com, for more information about the game and surrounding events.

match up in Charlotte. It would have been funny, after Swofford scheduled the previous ones in FL - expecting that match-up.

Glad it's selling well, but even if it sells out it doesn't mean the stands will be full...Especially if Maryland makes it. If Maryland plays in that game the stadium will look like it does for a Panthers game.

Doh! Forgot Maryland's loss to FSU took care of them trying to sneak in. Attendance probably won't be that much better if FSU plays in it, and I'm not sure if the in state Wolf Pack fans would go either? Like it or not I have to admit that the SEC does have the best conference championship game going. It's one of those games that I'd go to just to enjoy the atmosphere even though I despise most of the teams in that conference. Can't say the same about the ACC championship game...Only way I'd ever go to that is if the Tigers are in it.
