Jags game

The Jags game last night highlighted how much the CFP committee messed up. Before the game was played, who would have predicted the outcome? On paper, there was no way the Jags were going to lose the game. A THIRD string QB played out of his mind and a franchise QB goes down. Unbelievable that the game happened the day after the committee gave FSU the middle finger.

Exactly! That's why they play the game. I sure hope FSU beats UGAck and that Washington wins the natty. That would be fun!

one. Classic "phantom" holding call, you couldn't see it, even on replay. I would have figured that kind of call would have gone IN FAVOR of the Jaguars, considering it was a home game.
The game also highlighted, once again, that even good NFL field goal kickers are fallible. If the Jags kicker did not miss that earlier one, the one he made to get to overtime would have been a game winner instead.

Yes, if an defensive lineman turns to run toward the ball carrier or QB and turns his back to the O lineman and falls in the process, I guess it is automatically a holding call.

I guess so. Wasn't even close to how many times XT got mauled this year. Sad. But as 76er pointed out, right after Trevor got hurt, goes out and misses what nowadays is a chipshot. Pretty amazing job Trevor did to hold onto the ball.

Yeah, but Browning is 2nd string not 3rd.

Kind of like Tate Rodemaker is 2nd string who will start in the Orange Bowl....not Brock Glenn the 3rd. I guess the CFP committee didn't know that.

They could say Jacksonville lost the game bc they lost their franchise QB. If Trevor was in the game they may have driven down for a TD instead of FG and OT.
Either way, injuries happen, it’s part of the game. Next man up. Hopefully no QBs get injured in the CFP and have to forfeit.
Plain and simple, CFP committee cowered to the $EC, bc “it just means more”
