With the nature of recruiting becoming strictly money centric, I love the position that Dabo has taken on it. You have some schools offering 200 or more recruits, and some over signing classes. Not Clemson, because to receive an offer from Clemson means something. Clemson doesn't just offer anyone, and it shows in the reaction to recruits who earn that offer from Clemson. Rarely does a recruit earn an offer unless they arrive at camp and really show out. Also, Clemson doesn't put together an entire starting line up from the transfer portal like LSU, FSU, and Texas A&M. Nor does Clemson offer bags of cash to come to Clemson. However, Clemson does offer a comfortable amount of money to remain at Clemson provided that you have shown to be worth the investment. At the end of the day, an offer from Clemson is special and it just means more because that is the tone that Coach Swinney is setting for high school recruits everywhere.

Wondering how you know what Clemson offers recruits in terms payments? Quite certain we do not have a top 10 class by offering a "nominal" amount.
Related question, I believe the only payment which can be offered is the players cut of revenue sharing. All other NIL type payments need to be justified through the clearinghouse. Anyone know if this is accurate?

Clemson thus far is the only school that is allocating 85% of the revenue share to their football program. All other schools are equally distributing that revenue share across the full spectrum of sports. To answer the question about NIL, currently there exist no enforceable regulations regarding the amount or the source for the funds. I do know that if a corporation wants to sponsor a player, then the coaches are allowed involvement. in fact, the schools from what I gather can generate their own NIL program inhouse. The Clemson 110 Society is their NIL One Stop Shop. Sort of like IPTAY, but from what I understand IPTAY will shift its focus strictly to academia. 110 Society will finance athletic programs. Coaches will have a say in who they allocate NIL funding to for the purposes of retention.

Much of what you said is true. However, we absolutely make competitive financial offers to elite recruits. Otherwise, we wouldn't have seen the significant uptick in recruiting this cycle.
I know it feels nice to think that these top recruits are choosing Clemson just because they value faith and family, and come to Clemson and see that there is "something in these hills," but the reality is that they appreciate those things while also knowing that Clemson is making a financially competitive offer - similar to what they are hearing from other schools. In almost every case, the financial part is the most meaningful part of their decision.
I don't know what you do for a living, but I'm sure you can understand the financial side of things. It doesn't make you greedy, or suggest that your priorities are out of line, to want to maximize your earnings. That's not to say that you don't also value company ethics, location, coworkers, etc., but those things don't overcome your desire for financial compensation that is commensurate with your experience and market value.
Players are no different. Even the best players who value academics, preparation for the NFL, etc. also want to feel that they are being compensated fairly. If 5 schools are telling them that they want them, that they check off all their boxes, and offer a nice financial package, while Clemson tells them the same thing but tells them that we don't talk about money until they prove themselves more, they aren't going to choose Clemson. Nor should they. And to a large extent, they weren't choosing Clemson in this current climate until we dramatically changed our recruiting approach recently.
And there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with this. This is what we should be doing, as it is not only perfectly legal but also what it takes to help players know that we want them and that we are in support of them making the money their talents warrant.

According to Coach Swinney himself, he has not changed anything. I take the man at his word because he's not the type of person to blatantly conceal or lie to the people. It's just not his style and I believe if he wanted to keep it proprietary he would simply state such. However, he has repeatedly denied changing his approach to recruitment in his philosophy. Just in the past few months he has reiterated that NIL funds are used strictly for retention, but the football players at Clemson receive a larger payout for revenue sharing than other schools. This is because Clemson has elected to allocate the majority of the revenue sharing plan to the football program.

Well said ! Great Post ! 🐅🐅🐅 Unfortunately, many parents who would have encouraged their kids to select Clemson because of our awesome culture and what we had to offer to all athletes. Especially those who would have to find employment after their college careers ended. Clemson has these kids well prepared. But now the parents who were impressed by Dabo and Clemson’s culture are now jumping on the money wagon.
I praise and admire Dabo for sticking to his principles and integrity. I hope he doesn’t change. And I hope fans do not began to feel we need to up the money to achieve the Wins. I hope Clemson does not sale its soul for a NC ! Most of the quality players that select Clemson do not come for the money. They are smart enough to realize many of these kids go after the money will be broke sometime in their 30’s or 40’s. The time of life Dabo and his staff have their kids prepared for in life.
Thank you for your military service to our country. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
