There are plenty of legitimate reasons to criticize Steve Spurrier, but it's his own business whether or not he chooses to wear a wedding ring. That's a personal matter. I would like to know what the negative message is that you think he is sending his players.

but i will never attack him on this personal level about his wife and kids.but to answer your qestion.maybe he doesnt wear it out of fear it will fall off during the game and lose it.my dad worked in a mill and he wasnt allowed to wear his wedding band while at work.wore it on the weekends though
