No, I don't know how good they are yet, but we have 1 .300 hitter and he's hurt. Something needs to be done get the lineup producing again.

Clemson is 187th in batting average. 80th in runs scored.

A lot of high profile youngsters are sitting on the bench.

Disclaimer - I'm just a guy who watches Clemson baseball almost every game that has watched what was working 2 months ago stop working.

time will fix that, you can look for some of our talented younger players to hit the portal at seasons end. Mcladdie has been on the bench for weeks now, yet comes up with 2 of pour 5 total hits last nite? what is BAKICH thinking?

I don't think we are going to get hit by the portal entrants as much as you'd think. These baseball guys are much more likely to ride it out and wait their turn, not like football and basketball.

Yes and no! If guys were playing and getting some reps then yes, but they haven't played and EB hasn't shown that he will play the younger guys. He tends to hit the portal for older guys who he thinks are plug n play! They haven't developed anyone over the past two years, but have grabbed plenty of portal players.

Not happening at this point in the season. They haven't seen live pitching and you don't want to put them in now. Some of the Fr should have been playing early all along to see how they develop to see who can be used later (as in right now) but that didn't happen. EB was content with his older portal guys and redshirting all of the freshman except a few pitchers. It'll be interesting to see how many leave, or if EB sells them on being a backup and earning PT. They guys don't want that, they want to play and were sold that they would have an opportunity as a Fr, but that was not the case. Interesting thing is EB is getting the reputation for not playing Freshman so HS recruits won't come and you'll be stuck having to get guys through the portal.
