Mid-season and move to a 4-3-4? I would love to see 3 true LB’s on the field, and I think it would stun the Hokies.

What team doesn't use 5 DB's of some arrangement at all times? Even if they use a 4-3 the 3rd LB is more like a safety.
I can't think of any off hand that run 4-3 outside of short yardage and goal to go situations

I'd run a 3-4 and recruit multi-dimensional LBs where a couple big ones can come up and play physical on the line when needed and the other two fast enough to drop deep into coverage when needed. I'd transition that 3-4 realtime anywhere from a 5-1 to a 3-2. The other team's O would not know what we're doing based on personnel on the field. I'd probably get at least 50 scored on me per game though since I don't know what I'm doing.

We essentially only have 3 at any time regardless.. may as well swap the empty DE out for a backer or nickel.

Since our current front four aren't very effective anyway, I say switch to a 0-5-6. The double/triple team + zone would be so overwhelming that the other team will never complete a pass. ;)
