If Clemson/FSU are in a bargaining situation with the ACC, three things have to be on the table or all deals are off IMO:
1. The $$ to Clemson & FSU has to be competitive with Big 10 and SEC. How can the ACC do that? Match? No. Competitive? how? 2. Notre Dame has to join full time. Not happening IMO. This helps #1 and solidifies the league. No more free ride for the Irish. They can get a better $ offer from the Big 10 IMO if they join a conference. So done with them. 3. Jim Phillips must resign effectively immediately. Dismal failure as the league’s leader while the SEC and Big 10 moved forward IMO. A proactive innovative commish would not find himself in this position today. Dreaming of Alliances and Downtown Charlotte Offices caught him with his pants down. The league has to do better and think bigger. Adapt or die.
No to any three above is a simple no deal and keep pushing for the out. The ACC has blinked. IMO, they know they are going to lose so this is Phillip’s final push.
