Unless sarcasm, not hate speech, common sense! If he she is XY she is male and had test., strength, stamina, etc commensurate with other XY's. Stop advocating for special treatment that does not put you on a level playing field. This just reinforces my decision to not watch the Olympics after France caved allowing the mocking of the Last Supper. And, no I am not a hater, nor homophonic. Live and let live and no direct disrespect intended, but you do not get the right to dictate deviance as normalcy based on your "feelings"! I don't care what pseudoscience you reference.

We don't even let men be men on the gridiron - our roughest game keeps getting softer.

Why then are we letting them in the ring with women?

The person in the ring with her could hardly be called a man. Might be a male biologically, but definitely not a man.

Yea, those that ever suggested men who claim to be women should compete against females in sports will go down in the books as complete idiots! Heck, even the Barbarians knew better than to suggest it

Imane Khelif was born a biological woman, has lady parts, and has never identified as anything other than a woman. She has a disorder that elevates her testosterone, though.

She competed at the Olympics in Tokyo in 2020, and lost in the quarterfinals. Nobody said a word. Because nobody told you to.

She was banned by the governing body of the IBA from competing last year in India due to some nebulous “test” they performed, but refuse to share the results of. The same Russian-led IBA under intense scrutiny and whose recognition was suspended from the Olympics due to corruption, a decision upheld by the higher Court of Arbitration for Sport.

If we somehow put all that aside, she’s from Algeria, a country where it’s literally illegal to be gay or transgender. Do we think they’d send a transgender athlete to represent them at the Olympics? They’re standing behind their athlete, calling the outcry “baseless propaganda.” I’m confident a country who’d criminalize a transgender person wouldn’t do this on the world stage.

I didn’t know Imane Khelif’s name before yesterday. But I found the bulk of the above info in 5 minutes. Some people didn’t bother, but sure did have plenty of time to share their outrage.

The problem now is the bell can’t be unrung. Lots transphobic posts still there happening. No apologies. No retractions. No attempt whatsoever to learn.

Outrage is greater currency today than facts.

From what little info is out there, she has a nebulous chromosome that causes

elevated testosterone levels, lady parts or not. Testosterone is a proven aid in building muscle, that is why it is banned as a supplement for athletes in competition. Now, even if her condition is not in dispute, it gives her an unfair physical advantage over normal biological women. It sucks for her, but if she is a medical "unicorn", then put her boxing in a class for unicorns, not women. An exception to the testing standards should not be made just to accommodate her situation.

Exactly. I agree. A third category for trans and/or those who don't "test" as M or F. A few more medals can't cost that much. No big deal.
Don't worry. Be happy. Move on.

if you take a look at her actual boxing records, it doesn’t seem like it’s given her too much of an advantage. and again the nebulous test results were from a corrupt organization.

If that is true, I gladly retract regarding her or he. The rest I stand by 100%. And, it is not transphobic or whatever whiny liberal concoction you want to use. Actual men identifying as women is nonsense and we should not acquiesce to that. Period!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

If transphobia means keeping men out of women's sports, count me in***

Some of my favorite athletes have a condition that raises their Ostarine levels, but somehow that's where we draw the line.

Objectively speaking, all evidence and history indicates that the Algerian boxer is very much female outside of an unsubstantiated claim by a Russian boxing official.
