To respect his wishes, I won’t mention his name. But, he was a big brother and father figure when I needed it the most. I met him in 1986 as a sophomore in high school. He was a legend and my school. He earned a half baseball half football scholarship to Alabama. He COULD have been a HOF NFL guy. He got married and homesick and retired from college. He mentored me to a D1 scholarship in baseball and was one of my greatest friends of all time. He said no one ever pushed him as an athlete except competing against me. He is a giant. 6’5” 270lbs and was 6% body fat in his prime. I was 6’0” 196lbs. He is the gentle giant. He got Covid in 2020 and has advanced lung scarring. They are about to intubate and place in hospice. His love for Clemson rivals any of ours on here. Although he played for Alabama. Danny never offered him. Please say a prayer for my mentor. My brother. Thank you in advance.
