I will share with tnet a technique I use to calm myself...

during games.
I notice that many people get nervous during games, especially when Clemson is playing an overmatched opponent. And whether we start fast or slow, we look good or bad, we've all read posts like, "We are only up 17-7 at half, bama would be up by 35 by now!" and "How have we only scored 10 points in the first quarter against these chumps? We better be glad we are not facing a top 10 team today!" It's easy to get caught up in the game and become irrational, I get it, but here's the solution...
When you find yourself going from yellow to red during a game where we are winning 10-3 at the end of one quarter, stop, get your pencil and pad, and do this...
Take the Clemson score of 10 and multiply that by the total quarters in a game... 10 x 4 = 40 Now, take the opponent score of 3, and multiply that by the total number of quarters in a game... 3 x 4 = 12
Final Score Estimate: 40-12 It's a blow out!
Now, using the 17-7 example above... 17 x 2 (this was a halftime score, so we use 2 instead of 4, it's a little tricky) = 34 7 x 2 = 14
We are on pace to win 34-14! Awesome!
So grab that pad and pencil, and enjoy this weekend's game in a way you may not have thought was possible! Go Tigers!

I drink a beer every time Clemson scores.

I also drink a beer every time our opponent scores.
Oh, and turnovers. I also drink a beer when there is a turnover. No matter if it's us or them.

Every first down.
It’s light beer though. That class of 94 guy pounds space dust. I think he’s got a problem

I try to take a more common cents approach, like real men do. I drink 1 beer per offensive drive to calm the nerves. If Clemson can not stay on the field very long, then i have to finish the beer quickly and report my observations on Tnet. I find that venting onto the tiger board during the game, especially after the 11th or 12th drive makes me feel a lot better and the anxiety goes away.
But tell us again about your science and how it works better, nerd.

I hope we blow Furman out 34-14. That would be very inspiring.

I’d love to try that.

And I assume if the math doesn’t work out to an even number, you just round to the nearest even number before dividing it?
I’m gonna try this method 5 minutes into the first quarter and then multiply that out by 12 so it will give a larger sample size, because accuracy.

My approach is more proactive. I just call down to the OC booth and tell them who to play and what plays to run. I thought I did a pretty good job of remaining patient last week, before I finally put Cade in. When you’re in control, it’s much easier to remain calm.

I once took out three guys at a bar with just a pencil. I’m forbidden now to possess sharp objects

Our most recent 4 games...
Clemson vs GT 14-3 at the half 14x2 = 28 3x2 = 6
Final would be 28-6, which sounds off considering we won 41-10, however...
In the first half we scored 4.6 points for every one point they scored. At the end of the second half we had scored 4.1 points for every one point they scored. It's almost identical!
Clemson vs Iowa State 6-3 at the half 6x2 = 12 3x2 = 6
In the first half we scored 2 points for every one point they scored. The final was 20-13, we scored 1.54 points per every one point they scored. Amazing!
Clemson vs South Carolina 17-0 at the half 30-0 at the end of the game. I'm sensing a trend here!
Clemson vs Wake 17-10 at the half 17x2 = 34 10x2 = 20
In the first half we scored 1.70 points for every one they scored. The final was 48-27, we scored 1.77 points for every point they scored. Are you kidding me right now? This formula is fire!

I ran these figures by the Ga. Tech mathematics department. They said you can’t apply reason, science or universal truths concerning the Ga. Tech football team, because the team is mostly made up of girls.
