you can without wanting to catch a saltwater catfish on every cast in Florida and they are unregulated meaning no size or bag limit . You could literally keep hundreds of them but in SC saltwater regulations all saltwater catfish must be immediately released. And apparently its not a matter of them being rare in the carolinas because NC also has no limits on them.

what’s even worse is one time i was up the ashley past the salt/fresh divide catching cats and came back to duncan’s landing and almost got a big ticket by mr. DNR because i had catfish in salt water. After some back and forth he finally decided he would not win that battle and let me on my way. Made some good catfish stew that night
