but I had a feeling this was coming once word broke that Billy Donlon was looking at other jobs. It's my understanding that a lot of people who know basketball have said he was instrumental in the success we had this season. I tend to agree.
Let me be the first to wish all of the players and coaches leaving the program for greener pastures the best, wherever they end up. Thank you for a great season.
Go Tigers!

Losing Donlon, aka The Brad Whisperer,

would indeed be a blow, but I would imagine with his successful prior experience as a head coach that doors would definitely be opening for him now after the success he's had these past two seasons.

This would be a blow in similar magnitude to Dabo losing BV.

One of the true measures of how good a coach is would be sustained

success after losing critical assistants. Hopefully Donlon won't leave and if so I wish him well. If he does leave I'm concerned that with a lesser hire we see lesser results, and we certainly can't afford to take a step backwards.

Nor has he had an NCAA type team, per his AD, without him.

I’m not on the “fire Brad” bandwagon…. he can stay as some sort of analyst as far as I’m concerned. I said a couple of months ago that we needed to find out which one of Brad’s assistants is responsible for our success and promote them to head coach. It looks like that opportunity may be passing us by.

to pursue his head coaching career in Wyoming. They were a fun Duo, but without Shyatt the chemistry between the players and coaches was lacking and it showed don the court. Hopefully Donovans departure does not cause this much turmoil, but I can already tell by his last name that he was likely the glue that held tthis team together.
