Me. Was in elementary school (Margaret Morrison), though.
Got my hair cut in the shop on the corner (owner became Mr. Knickerbocker).

Also, Dan would give credit when needed.

They put too much mayo on bun for me.

Oh, was back at Clemson in 1962-66 married & living in pre-fab house above what’s baseball park venue and Dan’s was still going I believe even though had bad kitchen fire and served burgers at outside seating on sidewalk.

Great Guy & big Tiger!!

After a "good night" of cards, I frequented Dan's for his famous steak for 2. And of course
I did Dan's duty when I was a rat. Go Tigers.

In 1967 the football schedule was painted on Dan's outside back wall where there was a service station next door. The painting showed opponent, date, home (away), and ticket price. As I recall it was $6, $6, $6,... 9 times and last game (USC) was 7 bucks. Wish I had a picture.

Same here. To be at Clemson in the early 60' --- you would need to be around 80 years old. Not quite there ... yet.

But I'll be talking about my fond Clemson memories when I'm 100+. And many younger tigers will be clueless. You can take that to the bank.

That’s where “Mac” got his start; right? We’re also old enough to remember when “Mac’s” was in the old trolley car.

Dans? I remember the Clemson Cafe that was there before Dans. Then there was Dans, Dans expanded, then Dans with the Basement room and a rear door. And the Klutz Steak House (Dan's FIL).

Dan's had all of the athletes pictures on the wall. A friend of mine was going through the line naming the pictures and someone bet him that he could find one he couldn't name. The guy went way back down the wall and picked a baseball player. My friend looked at it and said,"Charlie Mimms, Elliott, SC! He is my cousin!" Bet won.

Back in “my day” going to Dans on a Sunday evening was a ritual that I truly enjoyed. Dans had the ONLY TV in town so I would go there to watch Bonanza! Can you believe there was not a single television on campus? Late in my last year they put a black and white tv in one of the old study halls near the loggia.

Was Dan’s where Acropolis was in the 90’s, or TDs or the the Subway?
Just trying to get my bearings-things have changed so much over the years.

How many remember when the Walhalla steakhouse on Sunday served a steak that covered a whole platter...not thick and an unidentifiable cut of beef (think they cut their own) with all the fixing for $4.95 which was great but this Ole house beat them hands down serving cafeteria style...went one night with a bunch of tigers and they brought out a whole fried rabbit, cut up just to let us try it!

When I was 12 or 13 I could go to a Clemson game with a dollar in my pocket, go by Dan's for a burger and a coke, and go to the game for $.50. As a student, I ate at Dan's all the time. There was no bigger Clemson fan than Dan Gentry.

Also did my share of trips to Dan's for upperclassmen when I was a rat!

From '62-'66, most weekday nights at 11:00 would find me there through Johnny Carson's monologue. Great place! Many good memories.

In the 70’s, did the canteen in the Univ Union have something called the “Superburger”? My brain just dredged that up based on the topic. If I recall correctly, it was two patties, chili, cheese, and whatever else you might want on it. Whatever it was called, I ate a lot of them.

One of the best trips to Clemson was during my junior year, 63-64, in HS. A classmate and I persuaded our mothers to write a note to sign us out early for a "trip out of town." He drove his '58 Ford station wagon and we went to see the JV team play Duke. First stop was at Dan's for burgers. Ate there a few more times attending games and was always a treat. Classmate's older brother, Earle Maxwell, played basketball.
