How do you guys deal with your significant other when they

pull for an opposing team? I myself have to deal with an UGAy girl this year and the tension is already mounting.
Any of you have wives or girlfriends who are still a member of the darkside?

Girlfriend ended up going to SCar (Started dating in HS)

Did it because Clemson didn't have her major. I told her if she pulled for the gamecocks or stopped pulling for the tigers, I didn't know if it was going to work out.
4.5 years later we are still together, and she wears orange to the Clemson-SCar games.

Was with a UGA girl a couple years back...

We talked about this game a lot since we knew it was coming. Ultimately, it didn't work out...but we decided that we'd go to each game over the next two years and wear our own colors. Everyone else be ######. If you care about her man...don't let a sport get in the way of that.
On a side note, we joked that if we couldn't go to the games, we'd watch in separate rooms.

my wife and I are not even intimate. That would never work for me as hard as I try to be a good man, dad and husband. When our daughter died, she said something left her and it is not fair to me. I also lost the same daughter and I hurt as much as she does each day. I hope it works out for both of you and you two are extremely happy with each other regardless of the outcome.

Woah folks...things just got real. PROOF MORE IMPORTANT THINGS THAN FOOTBALL EXIST. Thanks for sharing brother.
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss...to you and your wife. I can't even imagine sir. Intimacy can be a tricky animal. I hope it's found again, as I believe it to be an important part of life...however, far more important is your dedication to each other.
As for me, I'm not with this girl anymore, for completely different reasons. But I appreciate your sentiment.
Pay attention folks...some things transcend the Orange & White.
Thinking of you and your family MyfavOrange.

I broke up with a girl right before football season started last year. Had best fall ever. On the couch from morning until night watching college football. That feeling was helped with Clemson being pretty successful for most of the entire season.
I didn't want her messing up my Saturdays so I just got rid of her all together before the season. Didn't need Thursday or Friday night games compromised as well.
Another bonus was the money I saved on not having to spend any money on dates

different reasons. I've had to eat crow the last 4 yrs. I try to understand it is a game and even though we don't get along and she hates me, I keep remembering that I do love her with all of my heart and the game is only a part of life and I'll have a smile on my face again this year. Love is more important and our family means more to me than the ball game.

My twin brother is married to a gamecock.

The first 4 or 5 years of their marriage they didn't speak to each other for 2 or 3 weeks after the football game. They've mellowed since.
I love my sister-in-law, but my advice is find a Tiger Girl! I married one 41 years ago and we're happier than the day we met!

My wife is from Marietta and her family are all Dawg fans. Should be interesting as the game comments have already started.
Last week she put on a GA beat UF shirt as we were getting ready for a roll in the hay. I didn't notice until later (concentrated on something else if you know what I mean). She asked if I noticed the shirt afterwards, and my comment was priceless...Yeah, I noticed...GA is going to get drilled in August too. I don't think she spoke to me the rest of the night!!

And is not a sports nut like me - I can't imagine being married to someone who is as rabid fan as I am of the coots or dawgs! Those women who wear those "I love c###s" have to be deminted or very hard up or both! I have seen attractive gals wear them but mostly big fat ugly ones! ALL IN ALL THE WAY TO PASADENA, AND J. would love to go with me to see the Tigers WIN!

to the Tigers immediately after the 1986 Georgia game, if you DO anticipate issues with your spouse during football season, I suggest a large caliber pistol and very sharp knife. Preparation is always wise and a little intimidation can go a long way......:~)

Some mistakes you have to deal with the rest of your life. When I left Clemson there were very few girls (none that were marriable). I came back for my first graduate degree and married a Clemson girl. The landscape had change tremendously in those 10 long years. We have been married for 35 years and I have a son getting ready to go next year.
Remember Indiana Jones in the Lost Crusade: "He chose poorly".

Was dating a Georgia Belle in '74 and invited her to the dawg game. She had the audacity to wear a red and black georgia outfit, sit in the Clemson Student section and scream for the leghumpers the whole game. I reconsidered our relationship the following week and moved up to dating only Clemson Belles. Been solid orange in our household for 35 years.

Living with a Tar Heel has its challenges...
Jul 13, 2013, 6:35 PM
|

Originally, we decided to agree that I'd have football season, she'd have basketball and I'd take baseball as long as I did the gardening as well. Being a lifelong NC resident, football just wasn't important to her.
Then I got her into the Valley. It was a game against NC State, so we had a mutual rooting interest. We rolled the wuffies that afternoon, but what changed her mind ... about football and about Clemson ... was getting to see the campus and meet the people.
We don't get back often, but she always has a great time. So, I guess my suggestion is to let Clemson and the family work their magic and all will be well.

a man and his wife, no political or religous zealots should get between them ,either. actually, i feel that those two may impede the marriage to start with, unlike sports.

My wife of 30 years was a Nebraska fan...

She hated Clemson. During a matchup with Dook in Littlejohn during the late 80's she had my children cheering for Dook.
When the game was over I beat the living helll out of the kids, sent them to bed and grudge eff her half the night.
I was young back then and though that was punishment.
Just kiddin', sports are games, loved ones are life.

Wife's a coot but she's not to bad. A Kelly catches that TD against BC in 2007 she was a lock to be a tiger but oh well. Every year the week leading up to the Scar game I call her an f ing coot and the like and for the past four years its continued the week after as well
