and various other jerks who don't value cashiers until they don't have one*
I basically quit going to the neighborhood market by Furman when they went all self-checkout. I have no problem doing an item or two but do not want to do a weeks' worth of groceries nor be behind someone doing a weeks' worth of groceries for their family of 7.

It’s an absolute third world country feel. Good for them for not allowing the easy theft anymore.

*I will drive past my house and go to the TR Wal-Mart after the gym if there is something that needs getting and Ingles or Publix can't handle it.

Shipping direct is a whole other thing. And no I don’t shop at Walmart but I have to go to many every week for work and deal with the employees.
Our recent conference call had to do with making sure we ask the scanning coordinator to download the new pricing every month. So I’m supposed to go in and respectfully remind them to do their job… It’s my job to remind them to do their job.
Maybe Walmart executives should ask them to do their job.

for those of us shopping for someone who is celiac. Walmart and Publix both do a good job of marking gluten-free product, but Walmart has a fairly well-stocked section for those items. Publix doesn't group those items together, but they do mark gluten-free with a purple shelf tag. Gluten-free can be ridiculously expensive, so I definitely appreciate that they as much Great Value stuff as they do.
