From the stand point of the offensive coordinator, we do miss Jeff Scott or Brad, or both. However, if the tables were turned and Elliot had left instead of Scott I'm not sure we'd any better off. I think these guys needed each other to be successful. I think Scott was creative mind behind the offense, while Elliot was the analytic mind. I think Elliot "called" the plays because he was/is a better game manager. I think Scott stayed on the sideline because he was much better at handling the players during the game. Without Scott, Elliot is lost and without the "two headed monster" clicking on all cylinders, Dabo is somewhat lost.
This is not a quick fix. I think there are some things that can be done to patch it and make it through the rest of the season but even those changes will be difficult. Dabo has to start playing his backups, whether that be on the o-line, at receiver, RB or QB. And if somebody gets butt hurt and leaves, then so be it. The backups may not do any better, but you have to give them a shot.
Anyway, buckle up folks because this is going to be a rough ride. We need to be patient, but that doesn't mean we can't gripe, whine and complain along the way. I just hope that the powers that be have (Dabo and/or Radacovich) have the guts to make the tough decisions when the time comes.
