All of that Big 12 stuff coming so close to signing day is very suspect. Is it legitimate or an attempt to manipulate recruits??

evident last summer that the Big 12 rumors were damaging our recruiting efforts. I am not sure why so many on Tigernet thought that playing Kansas, Iowa State, Baylor, Texas Tech, etc., would appeal to kids in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Florida but apparently that's what you thought. That is wrong. That is why Dabo made the big declaration that we weren't going anywhere. He received several verbals immediately after that.
Kids don't want to play against the mid-west. Families don't want to travel to the midwest to see their kids play. I know a lot of you fans like to sit on your couches and don't care about those things, but recruits and their families do.

that you realize that you take the worst cases from the ACC and compare it to almost the entire Big 12, right?
Again:
Every year we play: GT Wake NCSU FSU
That's half of our conference schedule. Drivable. Every single year.
Other possible opponents: Duke UNC VT UVA
Easy drives.
That's eight of the 13 opponents.
Who else will they play?
Well, there's Top 15 Louisville (assuming they just take Maryland's spot). Syracuse (Fine. Skip it.) Boston College (One of the most historic cities in the country.) Miami (Not a bad place to visit.)
The only drive in the Big 12 (current) that is tolerable is West Virginia.
The only town in the Big 12 that's worth seeing is Austin.

There are a lot of factors involved in recruiting

You should know that by now. Do you think those schools are not going after a lot of the same players as the ACC teams? I am just saying the timing is very suspect.

All Swaim's and the dude's crap proved to be false, but no one knew a thing about UMD. BIG 12 wants to expand , true they want to get back to having a Championship game. At this point SMU and Houston would be bigger candidates than anyone from the ACC.
The only way they ever get an ACC teams is if they can convince 6 teams to leave at once where they can add them to WVU and one other school to have an eastern division of the BIG 12(16).

If, and that's a HUGE if, FSU, Miami, VaT leave the ACC

Clemson should go also.
My favorite options right now...
1. ACC with all current members, plus ND and one more for a 16 team league.
2. SEC.
3. ACC as is.
4. 20 team BIG10 with with the addition of UVA, VaT, UNC, GaT, Clemson, FSU.
5. 16 team Big 12 with the additions of VaT, NCst, Clemson, GaT, FSU, Miami.
89. 12 Team Big 12 with additions of Clemson and BYU.

1) ACC already has 15 we would just need ND.
2) Never going to happen
3) Most likely
4) probably as likely as the SEC
5) Probably 3rd likely to happen behind ACC stays and ACC adds ND.

If the $50 mil exit fee does not hold up in court, I can see FSU being the first to bolt to the Big 12 Eastern Division.

The Big 12 doesn't have the power to raid the ACC....

But the SEC and Big 10 do.
The ACC will be fine unless the SEC and/or the Big 10 raid teams from the ACC. At that point the Big 12 will grab what ACC teams are left and make an eastern division.

Swaim is saying the SEC is orchestrating it

But, the B12 and B1G are cooperating with them. If that is true, the timing of it definitely involves recruiting. I noticed that none of the guys who have 'sources' are giving proof of sources. I will believe it is happening when I actually see true sources from them.
