Got 2nd pick in my fantasy league. Do I take Rodgers or a RB

Like Jamaal Charles or MJD. A lot of guys kept RBs but I don't think I can pass up Rodgers.

RB, wait on QB since it's a deep position this year.

But not MJD, he's late second or third round. Look at CJ, Mrartin, Charles, McCoy - can't go wrong with any of those.

2nd pick. QB is deep you can get Matt Ryan or Colin Kaepernick in the late 40s early 50s.

After AP, no RBs match their TD production

Definitely take a RB.

There are at least 12 good QB's. While Rodgers and Brees are definitely the two most reliable in fantasy, the position is way too deep to take a QB in the first round. I would wait til at least the 3rd to take Rodgers or Brees and the 4th for Manning and Brady.
MJD is a risk at 2nd given his teams lack of a passing game and coming back from injury. Arian Foster, Marshawn Lynch, Jamaal Charles, Ray Rice, Doug Martin, or CJ should likely be the next 6 players taken.

Brees will throw for 300 yds and at least 3 TDs every week

He won't be there in the 3rd round.

Really depends on the league settings and point breakdown. Everybody has a different strategy.

Taking Brees early certainly isn't a bad pick.

Like you said, a lot depends on league settings and scoring. My strategy has always worked well for me, but I have taken Rodgers early a couple times in the past 3 years and also done well.
