ESPN and Rivals have HUGE differences on Lamont Gaillard! ??

According to whats on Tigernet. I know scouting agencies have difference of opinions but for one to say that he is the 12 best overall prospect in the country, and the other to say he is 200+? theres something wrong there. Scouts have him listed high I would have to say Rivals is the one wrong here.
thoughts?

Perhaps some believe that...

playing for Clemson or anyone other than SEC, ND, USCw or Tajus reveals a mental flaw. Maybe they deduct points for lack of good judgement.
Actually, all our players would be nonrated were it not for the attention they get from the SEC.
Folks can believe what they want but the 'rankers,' first and most prevelant factor when rating a player is 'who is offering him.' They have neither funding, time nor skill to rank these kids. They simply go on who the best programs seek to sign. When a coach knows a kid is bound for another team because of family ties, life long fanhood or the kid just tells them 'thanks, but no thanks, save your time. The program doesn't offer and the kid doesn't get the higher rank.
The alternate is to believe that coaches check the ranking services every morning to see who to offer. Now that makes sense, doesn't it?

Well said. Coaches don't decide who to offer based on

star rankings, for sure. But, the rankings usually do reflect the opinions, based on offers (or the lack thereof), of college football coaches. Thus, when the rankings are wrong or overlook a kid, some of the best, smartest coaches in the land have gotten it wrong too. While certainly flawed and far from perfect, the rankings are the best way we have as fans, to gauge how we have done in recruiting.

Actually, ESPN has him ranked #12 in the country, while Rivals has him at 203...so that throws the classic "OMG ESPN hates Clemson/ACC/falsely props up the SEC argument out the window".
I usually consider Rivals to be the best recruiting service, but seeing as they have him ranked in the 200s, and ESPN & 24/7 both have him ranked in the Top 13 (Scouts has him at 65), I think at the very least it's safe to say Rivals is undervaluing him.
Regardless, hopefully he ends up in Clemson.

Unfortunately literally every single recruiting writer has him going to UGA.

quick off the snap , good hands through being blocked and great balance for a guy 300+. I would love to land this kid , reminds me of watching Jarvis Jenkins tape.

Rivals rates players based off of what conference of what...

team the recruit is most likely to choose. Which means if a commit is more likely to choose an SEC team they get ranked hire by Rivals. 24/7 does the same thing, as it was founded by the same SEC homer as Rivals was.

I don't think Gaillard is ranked higher on one website then the other bc of his offers. Recently he named uga his leader. Now that doesn't mean he ends up there or anything like that. I'm just saying that if they were being biased based on which school he is likely to attend at the moment wouldn't the fact that he has a team from the conference you guys all hate so much as his leader give him pretty much the same ranking on these different sites since they boost the ratings of sec commits?

Especially esecpn has a huge bias, for your opinion to be considered relevant. If you need examples we can provide many. I bet you even scream sec sec when your girlfriends win

You guys are saying he isn't rated higher on certain sites because he is a Clemson lean when in fact at the moment he has uga as his leader and has for some time. Therefore if they were being biased wouldn't those sites have him rated higher since they boost the rankings of players interested in sec teams?
