Does UNLV stand a chance against Boise State tonight?

I'm really hoping they do, as a UNLV win would seemingly give us a top-4 seed in the CFP Playoff with a win tomorrow night.

I don't think we'd pass up the winner of Arizona State and Iowa State, but it's still crazy to think about what we may luck into. As the 4-seed we'd have a home game against the winner of the 5/12 matchup, which will probably be one of UNLV, Notre Dame, or Oregon (if PSU defeats Oregon). I would actually feel decent about our chances if it's UNLV or Notre Dame.

With a win at home, we'd be in the Semifinals, and two wins away from a national championship. That's a crazy position for the team we saw blow it at home against South Carolina last Saturday.

The 4 seed “hosts” a game at one of the NY6 bowls, they start at one and assign the quarter bowls by historic affiliation. So if they were matching as the rankings are today, Oregon would host the 8 seed at the rose bowl, Texas would host 7 at the Sugar Bowl, etc

The 5-8 are the seeds that get home games. Some definite issues with that. Theoretically the 5 seed can have a very interesting path - home game against lowest ranked conference champion, then neutral site against the second lowest ranked conference champion.

Its a really cumbersome system.
