I think we got enough guys where EB will be able to find the right lineup combo to put out a competitive 9. Starting pitching however is a whole different story. I mean we are practically all in on Bell and Moehler being weekend guys or hoping one of the freshman can come in and replicate anything close to knaak’s freshman year. We’re definitely gonna have to outhit teams

Yep…. We have pop and rbi guys but I worry about the timely hitting. Prob gonna end up being a .285 type team that hopefully hits timely dingers…. Pitching is going to be a major concern. Like you said, we are all in on what we have. I don’t even know how good it will be if we stay healthy but a couple injuries (guaranteed) and we could be in trouble. Portal ain’t done and we have guys coming in but not very excited

It really comes down to development of Crighton purify priest and Gaffney…..
Clavon is going to be a stud and Lichtenberger will be really good….. Need Crighton and purify to make that jump finally. Gaffney just needs to go back to his old self and priest just needs to make contact. As bad as he was he had 52 rbis and an obp of .407 in a bad offense. With more men on base he could be better

Not if he stands there with the bat on his shoulder so often as he did this year. I never saw a player take so many strikes.

Kindle the point isn’t it? That and even when he does swing he misses a ton yet still gets in base 4/10 at bats and produced 52 rbis

Exactly, he had one of the best eyes on the team, with the second best walk rate behind Listi. I agree he can be too patient, but hopefully in the fall they work on aggressiveness so he can pick good pitches to swing at.

His Cape Cod stats are right in line with last season, but with wood bats contact quality is dropping. He had the second best AB/HR, so if they can just work on making good contact, he could be our best hitter in 2026 or 2027.

The lineup doesn’t necessarily say competing for ACC championship, but EB has found ways to get the most out of his teams. The lineup will be competitive. Need Gaffney to get back to freshman form. Hopefully transfers work out next year. Returning players really need to step up. Pitching is the concern. It has slowly gotten worse. Rotation is concerning and right now there are maybe 3 relievers that can be trusted.

The lineup can’t be worse than last year… that’s one of the worst hitting teams Clemson has had in a while… whatever happened to that transfer pitcher you were talking about a couple weeks ago?

Sitting on it….. think Bakich is keeping things close because he wants pitchers to think we absolutely have nothing to entice them to come here…..it’s not a staff changing guy though

So I guess Titsworth transferred? Not seeing him mentioned, but I don't recall him leaving.

I anticipate Briggs Sullivan to be in the lineup with his bat and defense.

There’s a big spectrum with this offense. We probably have 6-7 guys capable of hitting 15+ home runs, but those same guys are also liable to have bust years. We really need to get better at putting the ball in play this fall.

Pitching is a big issue too. I think we have some good ones. But I’m foreseeing a repeat of last season. The pitching will look good at first, but will fall off drastically in the latter part of the season due to lack of depth.

wish it was a little deeper

but that's pretty decent. Personally, I'd prefer not to have Crighton as a starter, especially not as a corner outfielder. Let Savoie and Dalley start in left and right and keep Priest at DH. Everything else I agree with. If anyone underperforms, I'd give McCladdie a chance to get in there, then Crighton as the 2nd bench option.

Dalley probably gets a run at 1B, he’s played there some and exclusively played there over the summer. That opens up RF which McCladdie should get the first nod, he was our best hitter after Cannarella/Listi before he got hurt.

Crighton and Gaffney should get midweek starts and pinch hit opportunities, but Crighton is a slow slap hitter and Gaffney struggled against better competition. Backing played 8 guys consistently and RF never had a consistent player, which isn’t good for development.

Depth this year is much better, and the incoming guys put the ball in play a ton, so the approach looks to be changing.

No.

Because the only ones I have ever seen play AND have any reason for optimism about are Jarrell, Purify, and Crighton.

Maybe the new guys are good. But I have absolutely no idea.
