And they automatically go to the orange?

Or could Orange get an at large vs. FSU and open us up a spot elsewhere?

I dont think the Big East has an automatic slot this year, but the Orange Bowl gets last pick so they will be stuck with Louisville or Rutgers.

As far as I know, Big East champ stil gets an automatic bid to BCS, and if a non-aq team like La Tech ends up ranked in the top 16 and higher than the big east champ, then I think they might get an auto bid, which could take our spot. Not sure about the all the specifics, but Im pretty sure a Louisville loss makes it more likely that we could lose an at large bid to a school from a non-aq conference.

exception of FSU and South Carolina. The higher we move up in the rankings, the better our chance of an at-large bid. FSU and SC winning helps our SOS.

Yes but if the Big East champ is ranked below La Tech (currently 20h in the polls) and La Tech is in the top 16 of the BCS, then they take one of the BCS spots, whether Clemson is 5th or 9th, or whatever. THAT is the biggest reason we wouldn't be an at large, because La Tech gets a spot.
