DBs Not as Bad as You Think

Yeah, I know. It looked bad and felt bad. And at times it was really bad. But having watched the highlights, 3 of the TDs were closely covered, including the rifle shot 5 yarder and 2 to the back left corner of the endzone. They were just perfectly thrown balls by a very experienced QB to excellent receivers.

Our DEs have only 2.5 sacks in 146 pass attempts.

The entire defense has only 8 sacks and 8 hurries. Check my math, but that's only a sack and a hurry every 18 pass attempts. That sounds like a comfy QB.

Well, Liberty was 8-5 last year after going 10-1 the year before that and they're 3-1 - with their only loss being to Wake - this year as well. Hugh Freeze - yeah, that guy - gets some players there; that program has some donors with deep pockets. There has been massive investment to get that program up to the top level of D1. Liberty's got players and a lot of ambition and they've sent guys like Malik Willis to the NFL lately...they also had Antonio Gandy-Golden, Elijah Benton, and Walt Aikens off his last couple teams.

So...Liberty's got some game. They're definitely way better than the bottom half of the ACC.

When you watched the highlights did you also notice our DB's never turned to the ball or QB? Yes Hartman is a great QB possibly best in the ACC but we helped him look great.very happy for the win and a great game and I hope Reed can get those issues fixed quickly as we are in the meat of our schedule.
