Even the Georgia game was valuable learning experience. For 1 half of football, Clemson defense played well enough to try and win the game. Offense could not find any rhythm, 1st game and all is tough against a very talented team in UGA.
And yes the last 5 wins are against inferior teams, but winning convincingly each week including our rivals in FSU, is pretty nice.
Way to go team, happy to see the team coming together and special shout-out to the big uglies....the OLine has been incredible this year. What an improvement, stellar work coaches and team.
Go Tigers!!! Here is to keeping this momentum going
I think offensively, we have done different things since the opener...had we done them in the opener, it may have been different. Taking into account the Duke game last year....our offense has really stunk up openers.
I know UGA's defense is good and they probably have had some injuries (or arrests) since the opener, but it seems that the last couple of games have proven that they can be scored upon. It seems to me that our plan was not the best against UGA, with things like not running Cade at all, not committing to the run with Mafah when it showed signs of life, refusing to target the middle of the field regularly, not playing stud freshmen WRs, etc. Pretty sure we could have found a way to at least find the end zone. If only we could've put up something in the first half of that game to give a spark....
Hopefully we will have the opportunity to put points up on a good defense at some point. Until then, I'll celebrate each victory, no matter who it is against. You don't have to go back very far to see us struggle mightily against Wake, N.C. State, etc. and we just blew their doors off. This team is showing signs of being very good....we'll have to wait and see if it's great. The November games are challenging. Louisville is a solid team. Going to Blacksburg may be somewhat difficult. The game at Pittsburgh will be tough. SCAR will be tough as well, who knows what they will be like by then.
