Good afternoon y’all! I hope that everyone’s weekend is off to a great start. I was privileged enough to attend today’s intrasquad scrimmage and thought that I would share some of my thoughts. Here we go! 1. Caden Grice is back to having fun! In the first inning, Caden quickly fell behind 0-2 to pitcher Austin Gordon. Rather than tensing up, he choked up on the bat and delivered a two-strike triple into the left-centerfield gap. Following his slide into third, he popped up and followed with an energetic celebration. It’s clear that he’s back to enjoying the game we all love! 2. Cooper Ingle is still Cooper Ingle. To start the scrimmage, Ingle went 2-2 with two solo shots to right center. He looks confident, poised, and ready to have a great season! 3. Casey Tallent looks primed to have a breakout season on the mound. He consistently hit his spots and mowed through the batter’s he faced. Look for him to have a bigger role this season and potentially push for the Sunday starting spot. 4. Cam Cannerala and Jack Crighton are two freshmen to keep an eye on. Cam has a great range and seems confident with the bat while Jack has great speed and quiet confidence. I could see both players seeing action in the infield or outfield. 5. This team is going to run! Although this team is slammed with 15* homerun guys, we are blessed with speed and it’s clear that Coach Bakich is going to use it. 6. The bunt is going to be utilized. Yet another sign that we are going to look to capitalize upon one of our team’s greatest assets… speed. 7. Ryan Ammons is the dude! Although I didn’t get to see him pitch last night, it’s clear that he’s one of the team’s main leaders and an absolute sparkplug. Look for him to claim the Friday night role and capitalize upon the opportunity. I hope that you all enjoy these notes as your enthusiasm for the upcoming season heightens! I can’t wait for opening day and look forward to seeing what the season holds. Go Tigers!!!

Coach Bakich brought two players from Michigan with him: Riley Bertram and Willie Weiss. Bertram will likely be our starting Second Baseman or Third Baseman this season (wherever Blake Wright doesn’t start). He looked pretty good today. He’s not a guy with a ton of power but has a history of raking doubles! I expect Weiss to be our primary closer! I heard that he pitched two scoreless innings yesterday!
Go Tigers!!!

Did Will get to play? Hit? Can't wait to see the new pieces and should get plenty of work the first series.
Appreciate the updates and keep them coming. There's a lot of excitement. Team's going to be fun to watch. Really excited to see the improvement in pitching.

He did! He actually made a phenomenal diving catch in centerfield this afternoon! He looks crazy fast and the healthiest he’s been during his time at Clemson! I honestly don’t remember what he looked like at the plate today but I do remember that he was hitting towards the top of the lineup. It’s great hearing from you! Hope all is well!!!
Go Tigers!!!

You shouldn't be tense in a practice game...if you do then there are concerns...should be an interesting and exciting season.

How does Weiss and Bertram the michigan transfer look as well I can’t wait to see rob Hughes back and see if olenchuk and the nicks improved any…curious to see weekend rotation and closer role will be. Wish could have made it. Might try tomorrow depending on weather.

How did Tyler Corbitt look? Veteran player who played well when healthy last season.

Moneyball! Then the occasional homer to confuse the D. Sounds like it's gonna be a fun season to watch. Too bad the stadium has such limited seating.
