Unless we have a loophole to get out of the GOR, all the wishes for bigger payouts will not happen for years because of the payout to the ACC. Having a bigger bank account will not win a game in any sport so if you honestly look at every sport, we have better chances of winning more games and championships in the ACC than either the Big10 or the SEC. We have facilities that are better than probably 95% of schools in the country and are building every year, not struggling because of the lower payout in the ACC. I see nothing to gain by leaving the ACC but if it happens, it happens.

You sound just like the 2 coots at work yesterday saying Clemson doesn't want to be in the SEC.
No Scar doesn't want us in the SEC!! Every recruit we lose to Bama, UGA, and all of a sudden UT, says they wanted to play in the SEC. What do you think is going to happen when that's no longer an issue?

Your second sentence is highly debatable. Suppose SCAR gets tired of losing to us in men's soccer (10 straight and counting), or softball (have never defeated us). If they contact Noonan or Rittman and offer to double their salaries, you think it's not gonna get a long, serious look? It's not just the coaching salaries, it's the facility and player upgrades for each of these "minor" sports as well. And, the fact that almost any school in the BIg or SEC can poach us.

I agree with what you said. The problem is that the next step in all of this, is players getting paid or getting some percentage of money. Be that from the media deal or revenue or something. Where would that extra money come from?

Someone needs to get out in front of this and tie any payout to graduation. Those that are no brainers for the NFL and NBA will jump but those that might not make it at the next level will be financially incentivized to stay in school and finish their education.

Clemson is NOT starving for funding. Read the latest copy of The Orange you got in the mail. The first several pages reflect contributions to Clemson athletics. As always..... Go Tigers..win out!
