it....the sport..not their personal gain....I mean, you buy a 50.00 sweatshirt to support a player's NIL and the next year he has transfered to your biggest rival....How many more times do you think you will buy a sweatshirt that doesn't have your team logo on it?
early signing period is a failure. Most, at some schools ALL, of the players in a given class have signed on the early date.
I also can't buy into the "unintended consequence" part of it, saying schools are firing their coaches earlier than they would have otherwise, to get a jump on recruiting because of the early signing period. With the transfer portal being what it is, kids who would move due to a coaching change are going to do it anyway, even if they are already enrolled at a school.
Sounds like just another case of the NCAA wanting to have their cake and eat it, too.
