“coach” needs to be replaced.
Hopefully that’s a move we hear about being made soon.
We’ll be better off.

Go Tigers!!!

Talent is the problem.

Is it talent or player development? I believe the talent is there but the coaches (hitting and pitching) need replacing.

Can agree here... it's definitely not someone with a good baseball background.

Rick Franzblau, is well know in the strength and conditioning world and I believe he is very good at what he does, especially in the Olympic sports area. He has some proprietary stuff with the MLB that he also uses with the players. I have listened to him speak multiple times and he's very knowledgeable. My problem is that the players don't seem to gain weight or get stronger. He's been with the baseball team 11 years, maybe a change is needed?

They need to start with the team trainer gal. Can't believe an old military man like EB has a staff with a trainer that out of shape.

Be careful! I said the same thing a few days ago and was told I was wrong. I want someone to tell me who over the past few years has had a change in their physical appearance. Put on muscle or added weight? Nobody could/would name one person.

Why is it always the strength and conditioning coach’s fault? We do this with football, too, when things aren’t going well. Have we ever thought that maybe the players on the roster just aren’t that good?

Any great S&C coach will tell you the #1 outcome he is responsible for is injury prevention.

What injuries occurred this season that weren’t specific to the pitchers or an a reasonable injury occurring due to playing (ie McCladdie broken thumb, Purify ankle)? I don’t recall a bunch of muscle pulls associated with a poorly performed workout or insufficient stretching prior/during games. Supposedly Gaffney had a hamstring that forced him out of the lineup but I don’t think Bakich ever confirmed that. The rest were pitchers dealing with arm or shoulder injuries related to things that happened during games or bullpen sessions. Seems like that would fall more on Bellanger if something wasn’t getting done properly. I assume he’s supervising during throwing sessions. Doesn’t the S&C coach for baseball work primarily out of the new training facilities at Jervey?

Not a pressing issue. We simply don't have the talent on the roster. That's priority one.

Wondering how someone not associated with the team and likely could not pick the S&C coach out of a police lineup, knows enough about the program to call for a firing? Maybe you used a magic 8 ball to make the determination?

I know exactly who the guy is, and I know a lot about the subject.

But thanks for your input as usual.
