I love how folks from other places call him Dab-bo instead of the correct pronunciation of DAH-BO.

Okay, that's your opinion, and I respect it but don't agree. The name Dabo IS A "BRAND," and conveys tons of respect and an impicati0on of excellence. Since you appear to know so much, why don't you ask Dabo??

I met him the night before the 2012 Peach Bowl . I am 16 years older than him , but I called him Coach several times out of respect for him .
Now I would call him what Muschump does , "Sir" .

Whatever he wants, man, I'm down for. I suspect that it's going to be "Dabo" because that's what his younger bother used to call him when he was trying to refer to his older brother as "that boy." I suspect that Dabo has a substantial emotional attachment to that name, and that he would be very reluctant to give it up. Frank Howard was from a different a generation that had different protocols from those we have today. I have the privelege of being close friends with Frank's son Jimmy, and my impression is that he (Jimmy) has never refrained from referring to "Coach Swinney" as Dabo. If you are successful enough as a coach that the mention of your given "nickname" (lifelong) can evoke universal respect throughout the football world why would you change that?? Coach Swinney?? Nah! Give me a break! Dabo!!

I've heard many interviewers address him as Dabo. Ler's leave this. I don't care what you choose to refer to him as.

I've heard many of the plays address him as Dabo in interviews, and he's always saying that's just Dabo being Dabo when talking about himself.
I don't think it's disrespectful to call him that, I think it's part of his charm. It makes you consider him as a friend or family.

I might refer to him as Dabo (with admiration and respect), but I call him Coach Swinney or Coach when I talk to him.
