Are we simply unwilling or unable at this point to sign a top 10 class?

Why don’t all go back and look at 2011-2020. Very consistent with top ten classes. But don’t let facts get in the way.

During that time, I would agree. Since 2000, it is 10 out of 25 years with an average rank of 18.

From 18'-22' we had 5 straight top ten classes and last year we just missed it at #11. I wouldn't call that "rare".

you need to go find a better, more ethical team in the B1G or the $EC and pull for them. Please do.

It’s not the initial ratings you have to worry about. It’s the reranking after four years. Case in point: class of 2015 was ranked 9th at signing and reranked as high as #1. Those players became the winningest senior class in ncaa history (tied with Alabama). The year before was in the teens and reranked 3rd four years later. It’s about how you finish.
Thanks coot! Coot’s going to coot! Nothing since 1969 and still counting.

Exactly- The initial rankings don’t tell The whole story. With the revolving door of NIL and Transfer, a top “10” class in 2 years would rate in the 20’s . I like our consistency personally. I trust Dabo .

who is "we"? As is the first poster has a chicken licken thing to do with it. Meanwhile Dabo's got 2 nattys, etc. to show who is unwilling to do what. Beyond exhausting.

Totally spitballing here....Could it be that Dabo doesnt want a class of 20+ because he knows he will be cutting guys in a few months?
That doesn't explain why its not 16-18 like in 2018 (17) but perhaps all along the idea was 13-16???

You must be new because all you have to do is look at our record the last 10 years. Try that and compare to other schools you might learn something.

At this point it would be great to get back in the teens. #22 on 247 right now.

selling out to the highest bidder until they graduate and move on in life.
You really ought to simma down with the nonsense. Clemson has more money than it needs. If you graduated from Clemson and we anymore than a casual fan you'd know that.
If we bought players we could get who we want, now stop it!

Current #1 or #2 in the best player in CFB award Cam Ward was a: N/A coming out of High School. As a transfer from Incarnate Word - he was a 4-star who ended up at Washington State. Then of course, to Miami.
The kid who brought Georgia those two National Championships at Quarterback was what: "barely a 3-star sitting at an 80".
6'0 and not that big. And, you talk about all the talent around him all you want, but they have had far better "star rated players at the position who also had great talent who didn't win it"!
The point of those two is to say: "if you looked at what Dabo has done at Clemson with underrated/under-valued players - it's hard to see why this question comes up. Except I think the OP is really a Shamecock fan; trying to be an antagonist, so it makes sense". Ruke Orororhoho was a late get and a 3-star he and Ethinosa Reuben after not getting some DL we wanted. Ruke was drafted in the what round. Ethinosa is out there being coveted as a transfer now. Vic Beasley, Grady Jarrett, Hunter Renfrow, K'von Wallace, Isiah Simmons all were no higher than 3-star and a couple on the list were 2-star players.
Having to cut the roster down to 105 is why a ton of players won't likely get signed as well. Dabo, if he likes some of his preferred walk ons over a H.S. kid will likely keep who he has - put them on scholarship. It's a new roster management heading into next year and how coaches deal with it will tell a lot. https://247sports.com/player/cam-ward-46080717/high-school-230448/

So I guess the 2015 season (2016 Champions) Tigers, made up largely of the 2013 and 2014 recruiting classes which were ranked 15th and 16th respectively doesn't mean anything. Initial rankings are largely subjective and the final class rankings are objective.

It's going to be I increasingly difficult for us to beat teams that get Top 10 recruiting plus transfers.

You do not seem to understand recruiting rankings. The average star ranking of the players you sign, imho, is much more important than the number you sign (combined with the start ranking).
