I just posted this deep on another thread: After reading that article and putting my opinion on another similar thread I reached out to a buddy for clarification. Staley and Taylor tried to commit but we leveraged them to get the better prospects to commit, so I think Matthews is the only other possible player we could sign because he would be an “athlete.” But we are done at WR.

saying he wasn’t ready to commit and has since been informed we are full at WR. If he had attempted to commit over the weekend and was told no it seems like he would have mentioned it. Also I can’t see Dabo using a kid as leverage.
Not doubting what you heard but just seems that info was not completely correct.

Rumor in this part of the state is Staley is transferring schools for his senior year. Two schools have been mentioned Storm Thurmond and Silver Bluff. Silver Bluff is supposed to gotten transfers from NA, MV and Aiken for the up coming season. If all is true something smells rotten about all this . Just an opinion

Rumor is he is transferring to aiken firing their coach he has played under , brand new coach this year , I’ve heard the midland valley rumors and I’m a SilverBluff graduate but haven’t heard those rumors but it’s possible. I think we should Take this kid cause someone will hit the portal unhappy after this season , i
Also hope we can leave open 1-2 scholarships so we can take a high profile portal player depending on needs

Sorry yardboy1, I'm not following your train of thought. Why would high school transfers be a concern for comment on this series of posts regarding Braylon Staley getting a Clemson commitment or not? Don't believe those transfers have anything to do with Clemson's situation regrading recruitment of 2024 WRs! if they do, could you provide some amplification to your thought process?

You are correct. Really not related to our recruiting. Just sharing info on the kid. It just reminds me of the kind of thing going on in college football with teams tampering with players from other schools. Staley is a very good player and wish him the best.

Clemson is 1,000% taking Matthews & Coleman if they want to come to Clemson. You do not turn away talent like that. Also Matthews is now listed as a WR on the recruiting platforms, not an ATH

Coleman already had his NIL deal done with auburn. Matthews wants to play both ways (or have the option), that’s why he would still be a take.
