6'-6" 255# Athlete who runs A 4.5, athletic and has great hands. We seem to have depth at DE. Thoughts ?

I sure like him playing DE. I thought he and Justin Foster would share PT at that position.

That would not be a good idea. He asked to RS last year so he could work on his DE body. Plus, you don't want the reputation with h.s. coaches of switching 5 star players positions. Besides, I think Chalk and Lay will be okay.

Why in the world would you ask something like that???? Why not let the coaches coach? Besides, we have plenty of options.

blocking is a big part of playing TE

I could see him using him situationally at TE but I wouldn’t be in favor of making a permanent move there.

I’m glad we have a guy like Dabo who makes good decisions about his team.

Not really. I mean if he wanted to try it then sure but if not just let him tear it up on the DL. I think he could be good at the position but TE is not a position we NEED with the WR talent we have. IMO DL strength is far more important and he will play a role in that.

None. based on what? There are a lot of tall 240 to 270 guys on the team

What about his skill set or history makes you call him out vs the others? He has hands, route running and blocking ability? He knows the offense? Seems totally random and made up. Why not 20 other guys on the roster?

Because he played TE in high school

And I believe he was recruited as a TE (or as an athlete) early on by a handful of schools. And because he is very smart and would have no problem picking up the nuances of the position. And because he even hinted at it a few weeks ago in a social media post.
Dabo will make the decision for the team. But there’s no harm in discussing a player’s potential at a position.

For the record I am against moving Henry to TE.

Lol thanks. It’s not a crazy question because I guarantee you it has been discussed or considered behind closed doors. And we just moved a 5* WR to CB. Seems like he’s doing pretty well there.
I’m also against it, but can see the potential benefit. We have a load of elite DEs and no elite TEs for this season.

Actually if we are going to try a defensive player...

at TE, I would rather see Tanner Muse tried out there. He has pass receiving ability and loves to hit people which would be a blocking asset.

Is he getting credited w/ having "great hands" because he played TE in high school? Sounds embellished, but if it's even half true and he can clock under a 4.6 40, & he's agreeable might be worth a shot. He'll cost himself some money in the NFL and Galloway could enter the TP.

Easy task either. It’s just not that easy of a transition to make.
