Any Seegar afficionados on this bored?

Gave up the killer cigarettes over 30 years ago and switched to an occasional cigar which require no inhaling. Started trading with others I had met at cigar lounges while traveling. These came in the mail Monday, so I busted the box yesterday. Each gar comes in an aluminum sleeve that could be used to protect a stogie stump for later.

Yes and currently in Singapore where that forbidden fruit from about 90 miles south of Key West are readily available. However the price is outta sight at about USD$55 per stick for Monte Cristo #2.

When I visited Cuba during the short window when it was open approximately 6 years ago you could bring back as many Cuban cigars and rum you could fit in your checked luggage duty free. I quickly removed some of my clothing and stuffed 3 boxes of cigars and 5 bottles of rum in our suitcases. Delta had a direct flight from Atlanta which was only $270 round trip. 4 nights in Varadero at an all-inclusive resort and 3 nights in Havana.

Not really an aficionado, but a group of us try to get together once a month for what has been called a "HERF'. I have no idea where that came from or what it may mean. Not really important. However, the evening is for everyone to bring a cigar to share with the others. This is also accompanied by some good bourbon (or a port) and good conversation.

A friend has a connection for Cubans that he gets for around $10 a stick. And he shares. The herf is where I discovered Rocky Patels. Not that expensive ($3-$4) and they're very good.

A couple of guys that I would call aficionados suggested the same adage that applies to wine:

"Find something you like at a price you can afford and buy a lot of it"

CAO flathead V660 is one of the best cigars on the market, about $8-10 per stick.

Smoke at least 2 a day.

Like Alec Bradley most everything. Camacho, Perdomo, HC Series is a go to. Few other sticks but these are my go to’s right now.

If I’m celebrating anything it’s a Padron. Had a lot of sticks and it’s hand ls down the smoothest cigar I have ever had.

Everytime I hear this song I think of one of my brothers flexing in the mirror to this song!

For a second, I was thinking of the guy who allegedly hated Bob Dylan--Pete Seeger, the folk singer/writer.
