An example of why you should always keep you drunk mouth shut

Went to a restaurant on Saturday afternoon to have an early dinner and my girlfriends son wanted to watch the Georgia game. Her son was wearing his Georgia gear, and I was wearing a Clemson shirt just like I always do on Saturdays during football season. At a table next to us was this drunken Bucknut (sweatshirt) He started blabbing about college football, and asked my girlfriends 10-year-old son how he was “so unlucky to be a Georgia fan?”. I was about to tell the guy to shut up when the boy said. “It’s in honor of my dad”, The clown looks at me and says “your dad? he’s one of those hillbilly Clemson fans”. My girlfriend son yells at him and said “my dad’s dead” and start crying, which is true. I then told the old guy that’s enough, and thanks a lot. His wife was so embarrassed she got up and went to the bathroom, he quietly paid the bill and left
Always keep your drunken mouth shut when you don’t know people

That’s terrible, and is why I haven’t taken my daughter to a rivalry game yet. People tans this way to serious, my wife’s cousin was killed at a Carolina/Alabama game, it’s fun to play around but people take it way to serious. Hope the kid still wears his Georgia gear loud and proud

After we beat Penn State in the '88 Citrus Bowl 35-10 some Penn State fans were running their mouths as we left the stadium walking to our car. Some of their comments were directed at our 15 year old daughter. My wife gave her some great advice. "Just turn and smile and keep walking." It shuts them up every time.

MY grandkids play HS and youth sports. My daughter and son in law have a rule that post game discussions and comments take place privately in the car on the way home.

I feel so badly for your girlfriend's son. I hope you continue to each wear your team colors proudly and disregard ignorant remarks. Someone, coming from and Ohio State fan, it did't surprise me. I hope he got an earful from his wife on the way home!

I had to be in Columbia when the ##### played Ky. Getting on to the elevator at the hotel there was about a10 year old kid with a Gamecock shirt on. I asked if he was a Gamecock fan and he smiled really big and said he going to the game that night. I wasn’t about to say anything negative to him or even tell him I was a Tiger fan, as he was so excited about going to the game. Told him I hoped he had a great time at the game and he just beamed. Just because you don’t pull for someone’s team is no reason to be a jerk.
