Great season, and no one ever expected our softball team to be this successful so early in the program coming together.
I hope that Rittman will ask for a pitching machine that can throw a softball 70 plus MPH, bc our tigers looked as if they never could pick the ball up when the Bama pitchers was blowing their fast pitches by our lady Tiger hitters....

Can't they be both? I was on the Clemson women's fencing team back in the day (81) and I'd like to think that I was both a good fencer and a lady at the time.

Do you refer to our football players as gentlemen when posting about them? BTW. Lady normally means upper class as in Lord and Lady

When I was at Clemson, the women's basketball team was known as the "Lady Tigers."
Yeah, I know that was a long time ago but I don't think anyone means any harm by using the term "lady" -- in fact I think they are trying to be respectful.

They still are lady tigers as basketball has one of each whereas softball is female only so the term is out of place at best

Nobody called them Lady Tigers. The original subject was "Amazing seasons, ladies!"
Is your beef you wanted it to say "Amazing seasons, softball players!"?
Even "Amazing season, women!" doesn't sound as nice to my ear as ladies.
I realize it is probably a double standard. If it were the football team, we'd likely say: Amazing season, men! or maybe substitute the term "guys." Maybe it's been said that way for long is just sounds odd to use the term women in that context to us in the older crowd. No offense intended, I'm sure.
