ACC basketball - seems like just a couple years ago

... The ACC was feared and considered the gold standard. Although I now think back and it was probably 10 years ago. When did we get so bad? For years - the conference challenges were dominated by the ACC. And I don't mean 6 to 5. We won from top to bottom. Now it seems like we are Duke, UNC and that is about it. We picked up Pitt and Cuse, and we are still spanked. The ACC was very good from top to bottom. Wake, NCState, ga tech, BC, FSU, and Clemson are generally uncompetitive against our counterparts in other conferences.
Why? Did ACC expansion spread the ACC level talent to the new teams? ACC fatigue? I miss those days.

It was Swofford. He thought it was best for the ACC to have two dominate basketball teams: UNC and Duke. He did nothing as ACC refs cheated every team not wearing blue, and that caused the other programs to lose good coaches.
