4th national title moves us up among the soccer blue bloods

With our 4th national title we equal the total of 4 which is also held by UCLA, Maryland and San Francisco (none since 1980).

The only schools with more than us now:

Saint Louis 10 (none since 1973)
Indiana 8
Virginia 7

You could make the case that we are now the 3rd most successful soccer program with Maryland in a rut and knowing that Saint Louis’s success was in a different period in the past.

Yea that was impressive. I remember Indiana being dominant in the 80’s. Thinking that’s who we beat in 84 or 87. Have not googled so not positive.

We beat Indiana in the 84 final in the kingdome in Seattle

Which was a big upset at the time because Indiana was the king then.

1987 we beat San Diego state in the final but might have beat Indiana along the way as well.

In 87 it was Indiana, Rutgers, UNC, and San Diego St in the Finals***
