2022 and 2023

17

Jan 4, 2023, 1:17 PM

I made 2 YouTube videos. Spur of the moment thing. I’m bored at home with COVID. Nothing else to really do tbh.

I made them both for all of you. Because I love this community, but only those of you that agree with me. For the pumpers, I understand. People are wrong quite often.

But, you can finally put a face behind the profile and learn my real name. I know that’s what y’all have been desperately waiting for.

I may be mentally I’ll according to TNet but this is all sound logic, which either makes you crazy like me or a genius Leon

I have an undying belief that I’m a genius. So it has to be that.

Glad I could lighten your mood a bit with you having a death sentence (you know, with the Covid).

I think I may have kicked it. Don’t really have symptoms anymore. My taste is coming back too.

Great analysis. I pretty much agree with all of your points. Well done! Keep them coming!

Thanks!

I plan on it. We’re on the road to 100 subs. The goal is to add a 0 to that number.

Nice job, and informative. I’m 90+% aligned with your analysis.

Really nice job! I think my takeaway is that pre-NIL and pre-Portal when everyone was pretty much recruiting on a level playing field, our family-oriented approach sold very well. Things like the Paw Journey seemed to be a tangible differentiator and then when we upgraded the facilities, it just took our story to a whole other level.

However, NIL and more importantly, the use of the portal have supplanted some of those advantages and we only compound those differences by not utilizing these latest recruiting opportunities. Other programs must love the fact that they don't have to compete against Clemson in the portal as they do for HS recruits. I know people will argue that the quality isn't there across the board and we are just taking on someone else's throw-aways, but the reality is there are quality guys that can help a team fill the gaps when normal recruiting or transfer losses can't.

I do think Dabo is going to do a lot of reflection and begin to move toward rather than away from these new recruiting opportunities. The question will be how soon and how aggressive will he be.

Again, great job, and thanks for all of the good insights. Go Tigers!

Thanks for the compliment.

I think you’re right about the portal. Programs have to realize that we aren’t utilizing the portal. I’m sure Dabo spins this to recruits to benefit us.

“We won’t get someone in the portal to take your spot that you’ve earned.”

That is probably the sell. Makes sense to me too. And I’m sure it works for some recruits. I don’t know. College football has changed so much. Feels like we have to change with it.

Im not sure what’s a more redundant conversation to have, Will Clemson use the portal or Will dabo make a staff move. The answer to both is going to be no unless Clemson loses 4-5 games next year.

Which one is more likely though?

Is Dabo more likely to bring in a portal transfer to start over his own guys? Or is he more likely to fire a coach?

That's a tough questions to answer.

One hundred percent more likely to fire a staff member. We saw it with Napier and Steele. Hell fire someone if his hand is forced to do so.

That was over a decade ago with his job on the line.

The pressure of getting fired no longer exists. He simply makes too much money now. Feels like he can maintain his current staff without the threat of losing his job now.

Very good work and analysis, I grade it an A. The preseason hype on the defense really had me expecting us to crush opponents and praying we had some offense. I was pretty disappointed in both, with the exception of the running back trio. My MVP of the season was Potter, and he had a few bad misses this season too.

Thanks for the video, nice to see the human behind the avatar.

You’re too kind.

BT will be missed for sure. Losing him definitely makes our kicking game worse. Hopefully Robert Gunn is another BT though.
