Benched at Alabama his senior year (10 loss year for bama), went on to become HOF QB. Who's this?

Pretty fascinating example of getting coached up and becoming the perfect fit for a system!

Gotta love history. I know: plenty of clues here to look up, but it would take a pretty good Jeopardy type football old-schooler to know this without looking it up.
