Zach Riggs???

Feb 7, 2013, 7:36 AM

Saw where Zach Riggs sent his LOI in but he is not listed on the list of recruits yesterday. Is he going to be a walk-on? If so do walk-ons have to sign and send a LOI.

a preferred walk on does sign an LOI

a preferred walk on though can not be talked about publicly until they actually enroll on campus

these preferred walk on's...could have signed yesterday with smaller schools...cause many of them had other offers...but they chose to walk on to CU and try to earn their way onto the team....

some might say...why then do they sign an LOI....it is a privilege allowed so that they can state their intent to play for CU only....and also so that CU commits to them for this hard work, and since they are funding their own way...that they will protect them as an athlete once on campus.....also the LOI states how they must follow NCAA guidelines and those of a student athlete at CU

Walk on players typically don't get LOIs, but they may make an exception for preferred walk ons like Riggs. Each site (Rivals, Scout, 24/7, ESPN, etc.) makes their own decision about which players to rate and how highly, but walk on players won't make much impact regardless.

He did not sign an LOI, he signed a walk-on agreement. Completely different document. Most schools have them.
