does your company give them? what is the going rate? is there a point where you feel insulted and would rather just get a membership to the jelly of the month club?

They want them to be a surprise, so I have to do live checks to be passed out at the Christmas parties. A least 10 people will lose them or flat out throw them away. This means we get charged a stop pay fee by ADP. I wish I could deduct that fee from their re-ran pay.

However, they usually are not exactly "bonuses". They are more like RIF notices. In fact, they are RIF notices. At Thanksgiving.
Happy Holidays.

No Christmas bonus. District performance bonus at the end of the Fiscal Year, but it's traditionally been negligible (if it happens at all).
Plus I have one of those bosses - though a nice enough guy - who is often subtly undermining the ability to ask for a raise:
- "Next thing I'll know you'll be asking me for a raise we can't afford right now" in front of the management team
- "10% raise? That's a promotional-level, not just performance" when reviewing one of my employee's evaluations with me
- Semi-annual 1 or 2% "raises" to fall back on the "well we just gave you a slight bump" excuse
Yeah, I may be ranting here.
