Does anyone have any experience with sling tv? I'm thinking about cutting satellite and using it.

My issue with sling was the one screen at a time limitation
Aug 16, 2016, 4:00 PM

It also has highly compressed picture and only 2 channels of audio.

I'm really curious what some people's TV bills are
Aug 16, 2016, 3:33 PM
|
|
that they want to resort to the pain of trying to stream everything with a crappy interface (or no interface), no DVR, possible lag on their connection, etc considering they still have to pay for the cost of internet.
I'm guessing you have DirecTV? Have you looked into Dish Network? It couldn't be more than $15-$20 month more expensive than going with just Sling

My bill is now pretty much the same for DirecTV and internet.

has packages and add-on tiers....it CAN end up similarly priced to cable. "DVR"-like function can only watch one screen at a time no locals (unless they've added it)
Charter Spectrum Stream is a well priced option....WITH locals, but no DVR...however you can use Charter credentials to access apps & websites for on-demand stuffs
I've heard good things about Playstation Vue, too

Just looked into this, one drawback with Charter DVRs
Aug 16, 2016, 3:56 PM
|
|
is that they are not shared and can record 'only' 2 things @ once.
So, if you record something on one DVR you have to watch it there. 2 channels per DVR, so we were looking at 2 DVRs (family room + master). Record Clemson game in family room, cannot watch in bedroom; record 'Juan the Pool Boy' in bedroom, cannot watch in family room.
Definite first world problem.

if you don't connect the devices to your home a/v equipment using Monster Brand 99.99% deoxygenated cables, you might as well be listening to the radio.
hope that helps.
