1st post ever so take it easy on me. I'm surprised that I've not seen this topic posted and excuse me if it has. Dabo closed the deal with Riley fast. He's not been able to bring any players or staff with him either. Was there a deal for him to hand over the keys to the kingdom after year 3?

At one point I did leave to go grab a strawberry yoohoo and when I came back they were just finishing up the succession portion of the talks so unfortunately I missed it.
BTW new OCs don't necessarily bring coaches with them to new jobs, especially ones who were at their previous job a short time
|

But Riley did bring an asst coach with him. I forget his name but he was all over the field during the Spring game. He even looked a little like Riley and is an analyst for us now. He has been helping coaches and players learn the signals that Riley uses since they are obviously running a new system. Even Dabo had to ask him a few times during the Spring game what the call was because he didn't get the sign.
Dabo even commented that the analyst has been a huge asset to installing the offense. Sorry I cannot remember his name but said he has been with Riley for several years.

When a parting OC takes his position coaches with him when he goes to his new job, it's bc he knows that one or more of his position coaches would be hard to replace...

I don't know that we were looking for their players or their coaches. Players would have needed to portal, new coaches would have to displace current coaches.

I’m gonna assume this is a legitimate question and not a troll. I don’t think Dabo promised Riley the head coaching job at Clemson, if so we would have heard something about it.
I do think Swinney advertised that the last two coordinators he had took head coaching jobs at Power 5 schools. With Riley’s name already a hot commodity if he does well at Clemson he’ll have schools lining up to offer him a head coaching job.
Also Dabo is known for taking good care of his assistants, both financially and career wise.
