.... my wife and I celebrated 15 years together yesterday and while out to dinner near the capitol last night (also near the school) we saw a ton of Bama fans walking around and a few in our restaurant. I spoke to one of them briefly and he was super nice. Complimented our Tigers and said he hopes we have a repeat title match so they could even the score. Ha. His wife then asked "is this all there is to Columbia?" I told her we do have lots of good restaurants and beautiful places like Lake Murray.. to which she replied "good! Has sex in the parking lot
Dumpster diving
Throwing water bottles at games
Leaving for good at halftime
The unique, dead roach style stadium
Free Hootie concerts for 6 wins
Drive by shootings
Crips and Bloods car wash fundraisers
Live PD
It's a cultural oasis

I believe the traveling fan base is much different than the at-home, excuse making, Finebum-calling portion of the fan base.
I have had positive interactions with their fans when we play them.

I have never had an issue with a Bama fan in person.

I've been in Alabama a few times in the last couple of years. A couple of times someone said something a bit smart but to me. Found out one was a UTenn fan the other was an Albarn fan. Bama fans always congratulate.

I think that's the case with most fans though. If my only interactions with South Carolina fans were in person then I'd probably view it more as a friendly rivalry. The online version of fans will typically bring out the worst in people.

The best place in Columbia is the center..... because whatever direction you go, you're leaving.

The best thing about Columbia is that it’s only about 2 hour drive to anywhere else you’d rather be.

.... my wife and I celebrated 15 years together yesterday and while out to dinner near the capitol last night (also near the school) we saw a ton of Bama fans walking around and a few in our restaurant. Because this area of town is just horrible."
Pretty much sums up the Carolina campus area - "horrible."
Have you ever been to Tuscaloosa? I hate Uof SC more than anyone but Columbia is the Paris of America compared to that craphole.

The Columbia city motto is an hours drive from somewhere nice.
