have not seen it in the stores in a while.
I was a huge fan way back and I mean way back - the station in Anderson took them on real early, I wanna say 1990 or earlier. Rock 101.
Laughed at them a lot and bought their CD"s.
Now, If I try to remember the last time I listened, I have no idea, so it had to have been a long time ago also - yea it wore thin, but it was good for a laugh.
Did they not have the guy who would go thru a drive thru and just say "I love cheese." ?

You know...the JB&B Grilling Sauce actually was pretty decent.

It used to be a staple on tables in Mac's Speed Shop come to think of it, but that's another thing that I can't remember the last time I went to one.

I haven't had daily access to John Boy and Billie, ever. But tired of them anyways. I generally don't go for shows where the presenters laugh at their stuff more than I do.

Also a FM radio station that played albums out of Columbia. Listened to Weird Beard and Dr. Henley Smyth was a personal friend. A British dude from Birmingham England. Before he became a disc jockey I worked with him at Risdon.

they had some pretty good characters back in the day.
I've got a buddy that we still say "you gonna see Goober later on? Well tell him I said "duh huh", he'll know what ya mean".
Every few yrs I would come across their show and it sounded more or less the same as it did in the early 90's...with the same skits being replayed. I assumed they had been running re-runs this whole time.
Either way, they have had an incredibly long run.

Their show was never going to break much farther than the Southern states anyway, so like so many other things in the pantheon of Southern culture, it just didn't remain relevant in proportion to the sponsorship sales. Their schtick wasn't aimed at a broad enough audience to keep them afloat, and I assume the ratings would bear that out. As the larger radio markets in the South have become bigger melting pots due to people flooding into these markets from other parts of the US, the math didn't support keeping them on the air.

All of the guest starting to die off probably didn't help either.

Hard to place Robert D. Tim Wilson, James Gregory Etc. Frankly surprised they held on for as long as the did. Even my first couple of years in Charleston with long commutes I elected to listen to sports talk over them in the mornings.

WBT the Talk Radio station was that had John Hancock and Keith Larson, but the rest of the lineup, especially the syndicated Rush stuff was insufferable. JB&B was the soundtrack of me sitting in traffic most mornings, maybe that is why I found a job with less traffic outside of CLT, JB&B made me do it.

in the mornings, but that was on WRFX and I don't think they were syndicated at all then.
Brother-of did an internship at WRFX about that time, but he was there in the afternoons, not sure if he met them. JB&B were like kings of charlotte then, probably the biggest celebrities in town except maybe a Hornet or two.
They had some hilarious stuff I still remember almost word for word (cause they would replay the best bits pretty heavy).
Don't think I ever listened after I left for college. So it's been like 33+ years. That's a #### long time to be on the radio.
