I know the last few years a considerable amount of money is going into the SEC basketball programs. It appears that is showing up now. SEC is 7-2 in the tourney now.

True. I said the same a few days ago. It won't be limited to football and basketball.

SEC has been hiring the better coaches over last 5yrs for sure. They have elevated in basketball substantially as a whole in last 5yrs.

Ebb and flow. Up years and down.

With all that SEC money, you almost lost to Louisiana-Lafayette two days ago.

Which really sucks for the mid level teams like Tenn, Miss St, Auburn

They are already so far behind in everything and Alabama and the like are getting that same increase in money.

You mean now that the SEC can pay players without it being against the rules?

I mean, we all know they were paying players before but at least previously they had to hide it.

This is why the notion of splitting CFB off from other college sports is complete nonsense. SEC schools will continue to use football revenue to pump up other sports. Expect the same for the B1G in coming years.

Those two conferences will eventually dominate all college sports for years to come.

In basketball, this gap in talent will become even more pronounced when the NBA makes high schoolers eligible for the NBA draft.
