I still wish Dabo had left the starters in to finish that drive they were on late in the game to make it 51 -16 , however I realize that was Dabo's Alma Mater ...but it would have been GREAT .

In fairness, he did say the defense is "lights out" good....but he's absolutely on point when he says our offense is trash and that the loss of Jeff Scott is probably bigger than anyone cares to admit.

Paul Feinbaum knows almost as much about football and coaching as my Labrador. He makes money getting people riled up watching and calling in. His goal is to become the Jerry Springer and Howard Stern of sports talk. So far he has managed to become just as slimy and nasty as those two, but not nearly as intelligent as either of them. Clemson's rise to challenge Alabama is a threat to him and his base audience. Also I think the culture that has always been at Clemson but expanded and amplified by Coach Swinney bothers Feinbaum. I think Coach Swinney's open declaration of faith infuriates him.

Prefab, I know people don't like hearing what Ridgeland has to say, but there is a lot of truth in it. Most think Shawn Spencer is a joke too but he's saying the same thing as is the Landry game film podcast. In fact, I saw a post yesterday from very respected posters stating the same. Sometimes the truth hurts.
No doubt Dabo can right the ship but it could take some tough decisions. What Jeff and other coaches who've left our program did do was realize we weren't going to out recruit the top tier programs but we could recruit good enough and develop better as well as out scheme the top tier.
I truly believe the experiment was we'd bought enough cred from the 18 natty that we could out recruit if we could bring in the "right" top recruits. That works if you're like uga that has 5* talent stacked. We've got to dust off what got us here. The parameters have changed and we need to change too. Some of that will be scheme, some will be roster management, aka portal, and sadly, that may mean some coaches are shown the door.

He has a much bigger stage than his knowledge or lack there of should have. He is simply trying to sew discord in the Clemson family and put pressure on one of their highly respected coaches. Finebaum's MO is to trash on air anybody that is a potential threat to his beloved Tide. He does what he does, and it is sometimes sustainable. He regularly publicly discounts other school's programs to convey the notion of Alabama's superiority to all others.
Over the years he has similarly trashed Florida, Oregon, Ohio State, LSU, Georgia, Notre Dame, Oklahoma when it appeared they may be a challenge to the Tide. I believe he hopes his vitriol will gather traction among the college football talking heads. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.
The fact that he is talking about the Tigers tells me he thinks Clemson is still a threat to Alabama, maybe not this year, but certainly in the future. If he didn't think this, he wouldn't talk about us at all. Does he ever talk about South Carolina? No. I think he knows/worries we may be on top again and I think he is correct in that unspoken assessment. He will say anything to undermine this threat.
Like much of today's media's talking points, I don't believe much of anything any of them say. Everything has an underlying, unspoken strategy.
This is a classic example of beating a man when he's down. With Dabo as our coach, do so at your own peril.

At one point I believed Dabo had surpassed Little Nicky. He had in 2018, cue then it of Jeff Scott. After that, the offense slowly started to become more vanilla. It was imaginative, innovative, and unstoppable with Scott helping. The decline was sharp and quick. Lawrence should have won two championships minimum and perhaps three. When we needed the offense the most, it wasn’t there. Against LSU we couldn’t get out of our own way. Last year, the offense couldn’t keep pace with Ohio State. The o line has never been great. It has been okay at pass blocking and below average run blocking for quite some time. I still believe we are as talented as any team in America. We just aren’t developing lineman on the offensive side of the ball.
All that said, I have followed and pulled for Clemson as hard as anyone since I understood what football was in the 70’s. That will never change. I do see a program slowly in decline. Prove me wrong , Dabo!

I lived in Birmingham and listened to Finebaum on his call in show in 90’s. He is a total Bammer fan! He used his talk show to get Tommy Tuberville fired from Auburn. Tuberville’s Auburn teams had beaten Bama 6 years in a row. We have stood toe to toe with his Saban Bama teams and he is beyond butt hurt. He will totally trash Dabo for a long time. Just watch!

As said many times before, "ears" has no football background or knowledge (he just has a paycheck to promote the SEC) so I have no interest in what he thinks or says. RG3 may have had issues in the NFL but he does know something about offenses and I agree - we are anything but done as a contender going forward. We do need to modernize and what we see now is the HUGE impact of DW4 and TL16. Pick two years in the last 8 where our offense didn't look too good and see what is in common - a lack of DW4 and/or TL16. Still we need an improved scheme that someone who is not right now (but may develop into one) a DW4 or Tl16 can run effectively. You aren't always simply better and can do whatever you want.
Keep in mind even Paul's sacred idols missed the playoffs just 2 years ago and came back to win a title. Was their DYNASTY in question when they lost 2 whole games in a year? The sky is not falling, but we have work to do.

ESPN college football shared Paul’s rant on Instagram and I was pleasantly surprised at the comments. Many thought Paul was out of his mind and that Clemson was having a down year. Many thought Paul would regret his words. Seems our foes have more faith in Dabo than a lot of Clemson fans.

Perception is important, and especially among recruits who want to be where things are looking up. There is too much talent on the squad to be as mediocre as Clemson has appeared thus far. That means the problems are fixable. Finebaum is assuming the team will be on life support for most or all of the season. I hate to say it, but if what we have seen thus far is what we continue to see, his dire predictions about the future may be closer to the truth than any of us would want to believe.

My wife works with an attorney who lived in Birmingham. He knows Finebaum very well and he told her that "Finebaum knows nothing about coaching or how to manage a team. Finebaum never played football and was in the band. Finebaum is only speaking what he believes and has no proof to back up anything he says". So basically, Finebaum has no foundation in football besides being a journalist. It still amazes me that he graduated from Tennessee and cares nothing about Tennessee, instead sucks up to Saban and Alabama. He is a D Bag who needs to just go away.
