This is more high profile (though I didn't know of him) than most but I swear it is something darn near every day- the bus stabbing in charlotte, shooting kids at Mass in Minn, health care CEO in NY, etc. I think nothing will surprise me but the depths of this sickness always seems to.

The shooter died from a self inflicted gunshot wound, another student is in critical condition and the third student has been released from the hospital with non life threatening injuries. You should do some research before you post.

Very sad day and will be hard to find someone with his passion that can give honest conversations with young people of America. Thousands of college students were witness to a tragedy just because someone didn't agree Christian values and Conservative views.
There is a very sick facet of Americans living among us. Someone on YT posted a video last night of a group of students carrying a Pride Flag at UVU and they started cheering when they saw Kirk was shot. That is just sick! That video has been removed now thankfully but that hasn't stopped thousands posting celebrations on X and TikTok.

The shooter's comment was that he hoped a (GOP) Fascist could stop one of his bullets.
Our New King would love and appreciate the shooter's recognition of the NEW KING'S govt as a Fascist state, as Trump is trying to model his govt to match Putin's gvt. (And Putin is paying Trump in Crypto to slow-walk military aid to The Ukraine.

His Dad would certainly know. Whoever purchased the rifle for him knowing he had mental issues should be held accountable.

The common denominator among all of the senseless shootings in the past several years is the idea that anyone can own a gun. I’m sure there are a lot of responsible gun owners out there but allowing gun purchases without any type of background check invites anyone with a problem to own a gun.

It was no different 30 years ago. Or 50. Or 100.
Actually it was waaaaaaay easier to obtain a firearm as far as laws were concerned. I mean, 1993 was when the Brady Law was enacted.
So what’s the difference? I said above it was easier to obtain firearms law-wise. It’s infinitely easier to obtain one now because of the thing we are using right now. The internet. From finding a seller 6 streets over to one 6 states away, it’s the click of a button.
So is that bad? Not at all. The laws haven’t changed (actually have gotten more strict). Society has. The same tool that helps you find a tool (gun) also helps you find whatever f—-ed up ideology you want to prescribe to. Allows you to go in deep on conspiracies from Hillary is a lizard to redefining the term “fascism” and ascribing it to whomever you disagree with.
So do we outlaw freedom of speech? The internet?
Divided we are. And the only gun laws that will stop shootings is complete confiscation, zero production and strong, strong border controls on smuggling. That last part seems to be working GREAT for drugs.
The gun isn’t the problem. At all. It’s We The People.

Well you should probably put your boat away and be prepared for more sad days ahead as the revenge killings start, because I’m not hearing anything from the President about stoping violence or how to handle differences, so I assume MAGA is anxious for some “justified” revenge. Subject then verb/predicate...with a few adjectives prepostions and adverbs or modifiers mixed in. That is English!!! People might take you a bit more seriously if you spoke from an educated level. Funny how I was talking to a dude at work today about this. People are taking the destroying of southern history thing very seriously. They have been doing this for the past few years. Tearing down and dismantling of confederate related statues, changing our state flag, burning down businesses (like the wendys near Turner field, laying in the middle of the downtown connector etc. All these actions were done in the name of cleansing the memories and atrocities that were committed during slavery and all the way up to segregation. Indeed, some systematic bias exists today and surely will endure for years.
But my question is this...these efforts to erase the past lead me to wonder one thing. Why would a race of people who are so persistent and head strong to erase the history of unfair behavior embrace and hold so dear a language that is indicative of stolen opportunities from the past. Ebonics is a scourge that was created by an uneducated and unrefined group of humans. Education was denied to this group because education=power. And the oppressors denied them education to keep them down. So, why would these same statue demolishers and town burners remain devoted to a dialect that was created by lack of education and refinement. Created to define them and let the world know there is no need to take them seriously.
If I'm wrong, please take a breath, calm down, and present an eloquent argument. Im all ears home boy. And threatening me with tour fully loaded whatever is not an acceptable argument or point. Thank you all for allowing me to speak my mind.

Quickly, because you are…not smart, Confederate monuments celebrate oppression; taking them down is progress, please stop being scared with progress. Ebonics isn’t a “scourge,” it’s a rich dialect that grew out of resilience in the face of oppression. Your argument basically says: “We oppressed you, the results of that oppression prove you’re inferior, and now if you don’t erase your culture we still won’t take you seriously.” That’s not logic, it’s recycling prejudice
