I wish KB wasn't such a great runner
Oct 2, 2017, 2:26 PM

I have been incredibly impressed with some of KBs throws, especially back shoulder routes and the deep ball. But it seems he has such a tendency to run it that he tucks the ball after his first read. Seemed like some of the receivers (especially Cain) seemed frustrated about not getting any looks and being overthrown

would be the correct answer. He looked at the middle crossing route, then the Left side TE out, then back to the RB.

It appeared to me that he picked it up immediately, looked it off, then came back to it with a vengeance. It was also a good sell by Feaster on his initial hesitation as if blocking.

Definitely agree there, and it was obviously a great play! But I still think the lack of experience causes him to get a little anxious at times and tuck the ball.

Hmmm, I saw something different

I saw a number of times Saturday night when he went through his progressions quite well. The first TD comes to mind as the reception was to the third receiver in his progression. He still has a tendency to put the ball high on throws we've been spoiled to watch DW make routine, but I don't see the "happy feet" you're describing.
He has work to do, no doubt, but he has really done extremely well filling the shoes left for him, and leading this team.

I'm obviously not saying every time, the wheel route to feasted is a great example. I think he's going to be really incredibke, just seems like he's a bit excited which causes him to overthrow some routes like some easier screens and the second deep ball to Cain.

That seems a different discussion

He does seem to have a hard time with his throws being high at times. This seems to be especially true of his screen passes, but that has nothing to do with your original post.
He doesn't seem, to me, to be stopping reading his progressions and bailing out too frequently.

I have noticed that too with the screen routes and he seemed nervous with the deep ball to cain in the end zone. But looking at the box score he only had 21 pass attempts and 19 carriers. I understand he is an excellent runner and the coordinators want to utilize that ability, but he had 19/43 carries; which points to scrambling instead of extending plays.

I think what the OP intended to point out, and exactly what was discussed all pre-season, is that KB2 is just not that accurate on his passes. But he is following DW4, so that's tough for anyone. We are a little bit spoiled. BUT - there are plenty of QB's out there that are way more accurate with the pass than KB2 might ever be. Just sayin' what we all know.
We have FOUR excellent RB's, so I would love to see us use them a little more.
And for Pete's sake, can anyone try to block for ETN? Just ONE freaking block to get him to the second level???
